La band Falling in Reverse ha rilasciato da pochi gioni la canzone intitolata “Roland” un brano probabilmente autoreferenziale sul cantante stesso visto che porta il suo nome. Siamo qui a parlarvene perché abbiamo per voi alcuni spunti di riflessione sulla musica in generale, anche se questo potrebbe non essere il vostro genere vi invitiamo quantomeno a leggere cosa stiamo per dirvi.

Allora partiamo subito col dirvi che in questo brano ci sono due featuring che per noi risultano essere il fulcro di qualcosa di INNOVATIVO e speriamo futuro su tutti i livelli musicali possibili. Il primo a comparire su schermo è Tech N9ne un famosissimo rapper, si avete letto bene. Ricordo tempi passati in cui ci si faceva la guerra tra appassionati di diversi generi musicali, ma quello che fanno i Falling in Reverse da tempo è di unire insieme più generi se non rivisitarli pure. Vi invitiamo ad ascoltare anche la cover dei Papa Roach – last resort che esula da questo mondo ma che porta l’iconico brano a livelli magnifici. Ci piace dunque vedere che finalmente si mischiano generi musicali che danno vita ad un nuovo stile che a nostro parere è sia POTENTISSIMO che BELLISSIMO (ci piacerebbe vedere anche di più il rap contaminato dal metal e non solo questa dannata trap). Poi fa capolinea il boss infernale e quale miglior persona di Alex Terrible (Slaughter to Prevail) a rappresentarlo? L’estremo metal più cattivo che possa esistere. Insieme hanno dato vita a questo brano che dovrebbe essere inserito in tutti gli annoveri e registri musicali della storia, vi preghiamo di studiarlo anche se questo non è il vostro genere, è racchiuso un tecnicismo nuovo e fresco per la musica ma anche per gli effetti visivi.

Poi ci sono i riferimenti in varie strofe concentrati nella parte di Tech9:
“Yo, red rain, saw it fallin’ from a tower’s dead plane” riferimento alle Torri Gemelle.
“Head bang, mandalay bay hotel on a lead cane” riferimento ad un fatto di cronaca in Las Vegas.
“She plead sane but really imitating Ed Gein” riferimento ad un serial killer a cui venne trasmesso il concetto dell’innata immoralità del mondo dal padre violento ed alcolizzato.
“I vomit so shame for my son but I didn’t go John Muhammad” un altro killer denominato DC Sniper per il suo attacco a Washington nel 2002 dove armato di fucile ed insieme ad un complice uccise 27 persone.

C’è anche la parte cantata dallo stesso Ronnie “Pull from the depths of the thirty-six chambers, ah” riferimento ad un album dei Wu-Tang Clan pieno di testi complessi ed aspri, aspri proprio come questa canzone. Per riconoscere Alex Terrible ci sono due momenti visivi invece: 1- La maschera che cade nella lava 2- Il calcio a terra che la band fa poco dopo quella scena, tipica mossa scenica di Alex. Insomma tutto questo per dirvi che “Then I grew up, quickly realized; The world is a fucked up place sometimes!” il mondo ci appare diverso quando cresciamo e che oggi viviamo nell’estrema disillusione cieca della futilità “I can feel every sign of a human decline, I’m believin’ the time is upon us when all of our people are blind” segue testo completo.
